Augment Jewelry
These images show experiments with forms of various subdermal implants…
, which we call augment jewelry. They are proof of concept pieces and are not meant for implantation. Each piece consists of magnets or wires embedded in a resin. The implements embedded within the resin are not always visible, however, the rough shapes of the designs remain apparent. Such is the case with augment jewelry. When placed under the skin some details are muted while others are transformed. In the case of the Snake Magnets, the embedded magnets are not visible as a result of the resin, while the features of the snakes remain apparent. This parallels the result of implanting a Snake Magnet, as the glow would be muted, however, the physical features of the snakes would remain visible. If a piece of augment jewelry is successfully installed then the functionality remains once implanted. This can be seen with the NFC Lantern piece. Both can light up when encased within their respective materials.
All of these pieces demonstrate the experimentation process when making augment jewelry. Ultimately, many pieces may be rejected. Our work has evolved to favor smaller, simpler augment jewelry with increased functionality and ease of implantation over more garish augment jewelry that is more difficult to install. While more aesthetically pleasing, smaller augment jewelry can provide more sensory stimulation because it can be placed in areas with denser nerve clusters. We are now producing pieces more akin to the smaller Satellite Collector design versus the larger Snake Magnet design.
Augmentation Limitless
We are a biohacker collective that specializes in producing subdermal implants. Our pieces are designed to allow the user to experience maximum electromagnetic sensation with a minimal amount of effort to install. Our implant designs are rapidly evolving, as are our other projects. Eventually, we plan to produce market-ready kombucha leather and mycelium bricks as well as garden-grown food.
