The Global Community Bio Summit
A space for the global community of DIY biologists / community biologists / biohackers / biomakers and members of independent and community laboratories to convene, plan, build fellowship, and continue the evolution of our movement.
This year, our all-virtual event will build on the success of previous Bio Summits and once again create a place for our community to work, learn, and play together.
Explore this website to learn about the many engaging talks and workshops we have planned, browse some wonderful art, say hello to other members of the community, and make sure you join the conversation on Slack and social media!
CODE OF CONDUCT
The Global Community Bio Summit is a place of safety, where differing opinions are a source of productivity, strength, and collaboration. The Global Community Bio Summit welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds, identities, and opinions. This Bio Summit Code of Conduct outlines our requirements of participants. By attending, you agree to act in good faith to maintain an environment of inclusion, safety, and open dialogue.
STATEMENT OF SHARED PURPOSE
This Statement of Shared Purpose (v3.0) was co-created together with the 350+ participants of Bio Summit 2.0 in 2018. It is an important draft to help our global family communicate and make explicit the implicit, and articulate what brings us all together.
Community Ethics
This Community Ethics Document 1.0 was collectively created by participants of the Global Community Bio Summit 3.0, which took place in Cambridge, MA October 11-13, 2019. These ethical principles are intended to be used as guidelines for anyone, anywhere engaged in Community Bio work. It is intended to be a living document that can be revised, built upon, and edited..
