Hub for Biotech in the Built Environment
(Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom)
I am a synthetic biologist based in the Hub for Biotech in the Built Environment (HBBE) at Northumbria University. Brought to synthetic biology through iGEM, I have advised iGEM teams during my PhD at Dundee University, and the HBBE’s first Biodesign Challenge teams. I am also a co-founder of NUSynBioNet, a community for people interested in biotech and synthetic biology in North East England. I am now working on projects to build more direct, community-led, non-academic involvement in biotech in the North East England.
