Tools tend to be the hardest part of doing bio on a budget.
By sharing experiences and advice around building our own tools, and adapting existing tools in creative ways, we can build a more accessible community. Here we discuss our experience building and working with DIY tools in the biotech space, both "essentials" (PCR machines, incubators, etc.) and "nice-to-haves" (lab robots), which significantly improve the process of working with a small, volunteer team to make amazing things.
