The Algae series is a collection of works made on paper inspired by plants and simple algaes. It is an art born out of a fascination with their fluidity, changeability of shapes and primal vitality.

The basis of this series are plant inks prepared in the process of maceration and cooking of plant matter. Due to the unpredictability of the process, the ink changed slightly its color, shade and transparency each time.

The surprising results made it possible to accept the creative process as a completely unpredictable act. Sometimes nature is capricious and the color of the botanical pigment comes out differently than I planned. It teaches humility towards the forces of nature. It allows me to go beyond the anthropocentric point of view.
