Biohacking in Space: Analog Astronaut Missions
Analog astronaut missions are simulated space missions that put people into extreme environments to test what conditions would be like living in space. These voluntary citizen-science missions are meant to test human psychology as well as technology that could be used in these extreme environments.
Join JJ Hastings (x0.lab) and Elliot Roth (Spira Inc) as they discuss their part of Selene I, a lunar simulation mission to HI-SEAS, a habitat located on the side of Mauna Loa in Hawaii. They will walk through the various experiments performed in this kind of extreme environment, the experience of traveling to "the moon" to do science, and the potential for future DIY scientists to participate in these types of missions.
This will be the closing session for the Open Innovation Track
